Guest Information

This outline is to help all to have a great stay here at Beachaven. At all times your feedback is welcome and sought to ensure you have a fantastic holiday experience. If you are disturbed by unreasonable noise at night, please use the phone located by our reception’s front door or phone us on 07 863 5505 so that we can address the issue promptly.

Arrival and Departure

All our units are NON-SMOKING UNITS. Please leave your unit clean and tidy on departure.

Behaviour and Conduct

(Groups may be charged behaviour bonds)

  • No loud swearing or bad language
  • Reasonable behaviour and dress at all times
  • Excessive drinking and parties are forbidden
  • Liquor is permitted on guest sites/units and within the dining room and BBQ areas only but will not be tolerated around the grounds or in other communal buildings
  • Quietness between 10 PM and 8 AM includes no radio or music please. If we can hear you two tent sites away then you are too loud.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse admission to any person and/or remove from the holiday park any person, who in their opinion does not conduct themselves in a decent and reasonable manner. No refund will be made in such circumstances.
  • Consideration must be shown at all times to other guests.
  • Loss or accidents are not the responsibility of Management.

BBQs

There are 2 gas BBQs by the kitchen and these are free to use. Simply turn the gas bottle on to use and off once you have finished. Please be considerate of other guests and clean after your use.

Campervans and Caravans

  • All campervans and caravans are to have a current electrical warrant of fitness (EWOF) and comply with LPG standards (NZS 5423:1996).
  • All campervans and caravans must have their own waste water containers.
  • Chemical toilets and waste water must be emptied in the dump station only, do not empty chemical toilet waste down the toilets. Sachets are available for purchase from reception.

Children

Please do not let your children play on the banks or in the gardens. As parents, you are fully responsible for the children in your care.

Damage

All damage is to be reported to reception immediately. If required, the cost of damage to park property will be recovered. This includes the discharge of fire extinguishers without need.

Feedback:

We appreciate your feedback, please advise reception during your stay. Upon your departure a survey will be sent via text or email, your time spent to complete these surveys is greatly appreciated and helps us make decisions as to where improvements are needed.

Fish Station

Located behind the communal kitchen area. Please use the stainless steel bench and sink to clean and fillet your fish. We ask that all fish waste is wrapped in newspaper and placed in a plastic bag before placing into our rubbish bins. Please ensure that the area is clean of scales and fish waste once you are finished.

Fridge / Freezer

No alcohol or smelly foods to be stored in the communal fridge / freezer please. This includes fish bait. Please mark all of your items with your site number and checkout date. Inappropriate or unlabelled items will be removed.

Gate Access Codes

This gives 24 hour access to the holiday park for paying guests only. It is important that you do not allow your children to use this code or disclose it to others. Visitors will be issued with their own code if required.

Internet

Wireless internet is available within the park if you have your own mobile device. You can purchase time using your credit card or see reception to purchase time on a rechargeable card.

Laundry Facilities

Located in the communal block beside the kitchen. $1 and $2 coins only.

Library

There are a selection of books in the communal TV lounge area for you to borrow. Please feel free to exchange or return them so that everyone can enjoy them.

Messages / Mail

These will be taken and names placed on the notice board near reception.

Pets

We are a pet friendly park, however management reserves the right not to accept any pet or pets into the park. All pet owners must read and sign the Pet Policy Agreement in full on arrival.

Playground 

The playground may not be used between 8 PM and 8 AM (during daylight savings, the playground will close once the sun goes down). Children are to be supervised by a parent / guardian at all times.

Rates

Are reviewed annually and management reserves the right to alter tariffs and site allocation without notice.

Reception

Hours are 8:30 AM to 8 PM (Summer) and 8:30 AM to 7 PM (Winter). Security and noise issues only outside of these hours please.

Rubbish

Please do your bit and wrap or bag your rubbish before placing in the allocated bins. Please help us to recycle by placing your rubbish and recycling in the correct bins. There are three rubbish stations for your use – please see map for locations.

Shops

  • Waihi Beach Seaside Store: Great fish & chips, takeaways and basic provisions. Turn right at the end of Leo Street. Walking distance is about 1km or 10 mins.
  • Wilson Road Shopping Centre: Within the shopping centre you will find a Four Square supermarket, butchery, bakery, pizza shop, liquor shop, pharmacy, fish & chip shop, hardware store, sports shop, cafes, hairdressers and more. About 1.5kms or short 15 min walk.
  • Local Restaurants: A Beachaven favourite is the beautiful Flat White Café located on Shaw Road, a short 10 mins walk. For more information about local restaurants please feel free to browse our compendiums included in all units or located in the communal TV area.

Smoking

All of our units and communal facility buildings are NON-SMOKING areas. We thank you for smoking outside. Where possible please use an ash tray or dispose of your butts in the rubbish bin. We like to keep our park litter free. Should we need to carry out cleaning in the event of someone smoking inside, then we reserve the right to charge to restore the unit to the same clean condition prior to use, at your cost. Please be considerate of other non-smoking guests.

Speed

To ensure our children’s safety, please keep your speed to a walking pace only. Non compliance will result in the cancellation of your gate code and you will be asked to park your car on the roadside.

Storage Facilities

We have facilities to store bikes, personal belongings, luggage, valuables etc. Please feel free to chat to our friendly team about this.

Telephone

A card phone is located at the park’s front entrance.

Tents

Electricity can only be connected through an approved isolating transformer or RCD Safety Switch. The park has some RCD leads for hire, please book early to avoid disappointment. Management reserves the right to disconnect any RCD leads it deems as unsafe.

Things to See and Do

Within the Waihi Beach, Waihi and Katikati area there is a wide range of things to see and do. Get a surf lesson with the Waihi Beach Surf School, explore the beautiful landscape and take a walk over to gorgeous Orokawa Bay, pack a picnic and take a ride with your friends along the ever expanding Hauraki Rail Trail. Talk to our friendly team about the endless options that are out there.

Visitors

For the safety of all in our park, all visitors must report in to Reception on arrival prior to entering the holiday park. Visitors are by courtesy of management at all times and must depart by 9 PM. During the busy peak season, armbands are to be worn at all times. If an armband is not visible, you may be asked to vacate our park. No visitor cars are permitted in the holiday park grounds.

Water

No water fights in any form i.e. bombs, pistols etc. We encourage the conservation of water.

Wheels

It is encouraged that bikes are ridden at walking pace around our park and in the same one way direction as cars. Helmets are to be worn at all times. No skateboards are permitted in the holiday park. To ensure the safety of everyone, parents please ensure younger children are supervised fully at all times.
