Enjoy a beautiful bush walk to Orokawa Bay and beyond...... Lacing up your sneakers, hiking shoes or jandels (if you are game) and heading to the northern most point of Waihi Beach is where you must venture when visiting our Beautiful area. The views are incredible. The tracks are clearly sign posted so getting lost is optional. When you start the track heading up the hill, you'll be able to get a good view of any surfers that might be trying to catch a wave. You'll find the track is really well maintained and a lovely leisurely bush walk of around 45 minutes will get you to Orokawa Bay. Along the track, you'll see many of our native species of birds, singing to their heart's content and during the summer months you will see the gorgeous Pohutukawa flowering. Waihi Beach to Orokawa Track (approx. 45 minutes) Orokawa Bay to William Wright Falls Track (approx. 30 minutes) Heading west along the Orokawa Stream towards William Wright Falls. Though still well marked, the path becames noticeably more challenging than the Waihi Beach/Orokawa Bay track. An enjoyable track to make your way along none the less however, slightly more challenging Orokawa Bay to Homunga Bay (approx. 1hr 20 minutes) Heading to the northern most point of Orokawa Bay you'll find the track that will take you to Homunga Bay. Another beautiful scenic track with many twists and turns. This track is more of a challenge and there are some stairs involved. Making your way to glorious Homunga Bay makes it all the worth while.
