Qualmark accreditation

As part of Qualmark, New Zealand tourism's official quality programme, Beachaven is now a 3.5 star rated facility.   This is a first for the holiday park as up until now it had never been accessed by Qualmark.  Each of the different types of accommodation received a rating - our motels reached a 3 star level and the standard cabins and self contained units a 2 star.

Qualmark New Zealand Limited is a government and private sector partnership between Tourism New Zealand and New Zealand Automobile Association. Qualmark licenses professional and trustworthy New Zealand tourism businesses to use the Qualmark 'tourism's official quality mark' to help international and domestic travellers select places to stay, things to do and ways to get around.

Qualmark was established in 1993 and is backed by leading tourism industry associations. At Qualmark, we have a fully integrated system for assessing all accommodation, transport, activities and services to ensure that they deliver world-class visitor experiences.

It's a role defined for Qualmark in the New Zealand tourism strategy to help achieve the industry's overall goal to enhance New Zealand's reputation as a world class visitor destination. Qualmark is run on a not-for-profit basis as a service to travellers and the tourism industry.
